2). The LEDs Are Dead. Your BMW uses LEDs to illuminate the letters next to the gear. Unfortunately, those LEDs can fail because of old age, factory defects, poor handling, surges, and short circuits. Once they stop working, the gear selector letters won’t light up as usual. 3). This splice is made by 3M and is commonly used in underground invisible Fence applications for UG electronic dog containment systems. They contain a dielectric gel in the splice to protect against corrosion. They cost $.95 on line. Do this fix to both tail light assemblies.

Black on black with automatic. Within 2 days the turn signals stopped working along with the instrument panel lights grrrr. The hazard lights have yet to work by the way. Located fuse panel and struggled to understand the quick guide diagram of the fuses. Nothing saying turn indicators, instrument panel lights or hazard lights.
Since it is solid, I'd think this could either indicate a problem with the security system, or it needs to be reset. Most security systems will reset if you get out of the vehicle with all the doors closed, then lock/unlock using one of your master keys (not the key fob). I don't know if this will work in this situation, but it's worth a try.
Carly is limited on the E46, E38, E39, E53 and similar chassis due to a number of factors. But Carly is fine for BMW's older than 2011, for the chassis after the E46, E38, E39, E53 and similar Carly does have quite a few features. I have a 2008 E70 X5 which Carly can do quite a lot of advanced coding, I also have a 2013 E93 328 Convertible and

Angel Eyes Not Working. i just picked up a 1999 318i E46 on the weekend, after my old merc got written off in a hail storm. The person that I bought it off had updated the lights - rears are now c-r-c and he put HID halogen headlights on, with angel eyes and LED indicators. Now the problem is that when i turn on the headlights, the dash display The turn signals all started working again after a few miles. This past week, the alternator died. My indie BMW shop replaced the alternator with a remanufactured Bosch unit, replaced the related pulleys, tensionors, etc and the car ran fine. The next day, my turn signals (and emergency flashers) stopped working during a 2 mile trip to lunch. After checking both side, the one that worked was showing current flow through a multimeter whereas the left side marker was showing no current flow. So this means we have one side wiring not working. Also on actual plug (the one that attaches to the side marker, I could see some sections of the plastic burnt)

The internals are actually quite simple. The LCM really just consists of some power transistors (covered by a heatsink) and a micro-controller. The micro-controller contains both RAM and a custom ROM program preset for the car configuration; the controller can directly drive the outputs and monitor the check inputs.
The E46 headlight switch is mounted in the dashboard on the left side of the steering wheel. The switch fails over time and causes exterior lighting problems. The headlight switch is mounted to the lighting control module. When removed, they come out as a unit and can be separated and serviced individually. The headlight switch is not a big deal.

I've been monitoring the float level in the expansion tank and it remains at the same position, so, there is no need to add more fluid.

Everything else seems to work, radio, nav, AC, lights, indicators, and no other warning lights on. There is no electric current in key position 1, so I swapped out the ignition switch for a new one as the dealer said that would be the problem, but its still the same with the new part, no power in position 1 for the radio, etc. and in position 2

8) Reconnect the electrical plug and connect the female connector to the correct Tab on the bulb holder rail. 9) Replace the bulb holder unit into the rear light unit and tighten the large plastic retaining screw by hand. Its only 5 minute job and the rear bulb failure warning light has now stopped illuminating :thumbsup.
The extra resistance due to one bulb circuit being broken causes the flasher to increase its rate. With all bulbs working, I tried swapping bulbs around, checking contacts between bulb and bulb holder, checking ground contacts all over the car chassis, and checking all of the circuits for excessive resistance with a multimeter.
