Living World Season 2. Heart of Thorns. Living World Season 3. Path of Fire. Living World Season 4. Gw2 works a bit different than other mmos, you don't get old expansions with the newest and you don't need old expansions to buy the newest, but if you only buy the newest you are missing tons of content, in gw2 even content from 2015 that came with the first expansion is still populated and relevant. You will need time to acclimatize yourself with new builds/mechanics and to go through the story at a comfortable pace. While you can jump to the latest expansion right away, there's 10 years of content that's still good and have relevant rewards. There is never really a bad time to get the expansions.

You have to be level 80 to start any of the expansions. You don't have to have any of the living world seasons. But if you get into the story, you will likely want them all. Besides for story, living world opens up additional maps which will include addition ways to farm gold through meta events and vendors for ascended accessory.

You sure can finish all the expansions playing casually, it will just take a while. Well there is alot locked behind expansions but its only end game content (+ some useful features like mounts and glider). You dont need expansion to play and enjoy the game. Here is my adivice1) buy living season 2 (exchange gold for gems) to get an extra story (if you are interested in story). If you like that then HoT story ties right to it.

Content wise the Living World is very much worth it. Living world seasons 3-5 together even add more new maps to the game than the 3 expansions, and those mapss are by no means small or worse than expansion maps. And story wise it's inbetween the expansions, so very much required to understand the full story.
