Map buttons and touchscreen not working. JwireS4 11 months ago. HI! On my watch it is not possible to move around the map using the touchscreen or using the keys. This happens both on the training maps page and during navigation. The only thing you can do on the map is zoom in, but not move using the keys or the touchscreen.
I attempted to clean the port as well as opened up the watch to see if the sensor looked OK. The sensor looked fine and I cleaned out the port. Neither of these things resolved the problem. Of course, I also tried a factory reset. My last resort is sending it to Garmin for repair, but I would image that would cost more than the watch is worth.

Fenix 5 not counting steps. Fenix. For about a month my Garmin has stopped counting steps outside of activities. If I cycle the power it may count for a day or two, then stops. I’ve seen a couple of threads w similar probs, anyone find a solution. Chosen Solution. @alistair , Alistair, Use the disassembly guide below to take your watch apart and clean the buttons perhaps if need be then you will have access to change buttons. Use a soft cloth or Qtip dampened with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean around the buttons and contacts. Good luck.

Have had the watch 2 days. Day 1 experienced the swim/no distance problem. Now today, the middle button the left side does not work at all. Press and press and no click, no response from the watch. Bottom left button clicks, works fine. Now can't access a lot of the watch's functions.
